Cycling

The usually quiet roads of Assynt are popular with cyclists. Two circular routes can be completed - both taking in mountain & coastal scenery. Lochinver - Stoer - Drumbeg - Loch assynt - Lochinver, and Lochinver - Inverkirkaig - Stac Pollaidh -Drumrunie - Elphin - Inchnadamph - Lochinver.

There are several other opportunities for mountain biking along the stalkers’ paths that lead into the remoter parts of the region. One loop explores the Reay Forest close to Kylestrome with magnificent views across to Quinag and Loch Glendhu.

There are official routes further east through the forests.
