Historic Assynt - Archaeological Excavation at Clashmore Crannog

8th August - 11th August | 9.30am - 4.00pm
Many Scottish crannogs were first built between 4,000 and 2,000 years ago and some continued in use for long periods.

They are islands in lochs or rivers and they might be either artificial or partly natural There are several in Assynt lochs, and one can be found quite close to Clachtoll Broch in Loch na Claise, Clashmore.

Historic Assynt hopes to embark on a major programme of excavation and consolidation at the broch in 2017/18 and is also trying to discover as much as possible about other sites in the area that may have been in use at the same time.

Volunteers will also be welcome and if you would
like to get involved contact

Visitors - please follow signs from Rhue Stoer Village Hall on the B 869
