A well established wide track crosses a river, passes along a loch side and ancient woodland before climbing steadily to a secluded valley past the ruins of a Shepherd's house dating to 1870 to explore prehistoric round houses, and a small abandoned pre-clearance settlement.
The round trip is about two and a half miles and although the track to the 1870 house is easy to follow and dry the walk to the round house skirts a former loch and can be boggy and less well defined.
There is a steep climb to the cleared settlement remains but this rewarded by wonderful mountain views on clear days.
