From the Ardvreck Castle car park this miles long trail takes you into the beautiful limestone hills to the east of the castle from where there are extensive views of Loch Assynt and the encircling mountains.
The most obvious ruins are a farmhouse and outbuildings dating to the 1770's but abandoned half a century later. Some small house foundations along the way may be several centuries older and a severely robbed cairn and other features were almost certainly built in the Bronze Age.
The trail starts off on a good track but most of the route is through grassland interspersed with limestone ridges so care is needed to find the way.
