Kylesku Lodges

Our ten self-catering Scandinavian design A-frame lodges are set in 40 acres of private estate on an elevated site at the head of a sea loch. One of the Assynt mountains, Quinag, provides a spectacular backdrop and every lodge is sited to make the most of both mountain and sea views.

Each lodge provides warm, comfortable accommodation for up to 4 guests comprising an entrance hallway, an L-shaped open plan living space with fully fitted kitchen and a generous living/dining area with patio doors opening onto a deck, a bathroom and double (kingsize bed) and twin bedrooms. Each has adjacent parking. We also have a ping pong table if you fancy a game. Wifi is available to our guests for checking emails and web browsing, downloading is not possible. Short breaks are available.

The award winning Kylesku Hotel, with its outstanding food and pub, is within comfortable walking distance and there is much to enjoy in the local area. Take a boat trip up the loch from Kylesku to view the seals and Britain's highest waterfall or out to sea to search for dolphins, whales and seabirds.

Head north over the famous Kylesku Bridge and visit beautiful remote sandy beaches at Oldshoremore, Balnakiel, Durness and Sandwood Bay, reputed to be the most beautiful beach in Scotland. Visit Smoo Cave, Cape Wrath, and the nature reserve at Handa Island, renowned for its high cliffs and colonies of nesting seabirds.

Explore the fascinating Stoer peninsula, sea stack and lighthouse, a popular spot for whale watching. There are also Nature Reserves, ruined castles, limestone caves and Scotland's first Geopark to explore. The Assynt Visitor Centre, Culag Community Wood and Little Assynt Estate are also nearby and there are a variety of walks and climbs to suit all abilities.

Kylesku is 20 minutes drive from the fishing village of Lochinver and 40 minutes from Ullapool, a thriving small town that links to the Outer Hebrides via ferry. It has a supermarket and a variety of shops, museum, restaurants and pubs which hold live music sessions throughout summer. Other services include a tourist information centre, fuel station, bank and boat trips. The villages of Scourie, Lairg, Durness and three coastlines are also within easy reach.
