Discover Assynt
Assynt is a small parish of just over one thousand people tucked away in the far North Western corner of Scotland. It is bounded on four corners by the Point of Stoer, Kylesku, Elphin and Inverkirkaig.

The village of Lochinver is our largest settlement and home to almost 400 people. The remainder of our population live and work around the coastal townships of Inverkirkaig, Achmelvich, Clachtoll, Stoer, Clashnessie, Drumbeg and Kylesku. Inchnadamph and Elphin are settled amidst the geological wonders of the Moine thrust and Loch Assynt.

Our remarkable landscape and mountains are immortalised by the pen of Norman MacCaig who enquired:

Who possesses this landscape?
The man who bought it or
I who am possessed by it?
Come visit, slow down, breathe and discover this most hidden
part of Scotland for yourself.
